Jennifer Helgren – Head Instructor/Trainer
I have been training, competing and working with horses and riders for over 25 years. Starting in a southern California hunter/jumper barn, I learned the basics of riding and moved up through the hunter/jumper levels, regularly competing in the A-show circuits of San Diego and Los Angeles. A brief hiatus to attend the University of Colorado did little to dilute the horse that was in my blood.
Silverthorne Run Stables was established in 1997 in Bluffton, SC and my husband, Jim, and I soon moved it to our own facility in Savannah, GA. For 10 years, I taught, trained, boarded and hosted clinics and horse shows. In 2009, in order to be closer and more involved in the eventing community, we moved the program to Aiken, SC
As an instructor, I am passionate about my students and their successes…no matter if they are competitive-based or simply pleasure riders. I am patient and positive and believe that though it takes a lot of work to progress as a rider, it should ultimately be fun and rewarding.
I am certified through the American Riding Instructors Association in both hunt seat and eventing and achieved my “Lifetime Instructor” status in 2009. My students have experienced much success in both the hunter/jumper rings and in eventing. I have and extensive list of satisfied clients and positive references, which are available upon request.
